First Blog Post Ever!

Wow, my first Blog. Cool. I've read a few blogs and I guess the whole idea is just to talk about the stuff that matters to you. What matters to me is my school Lawrence High. Well, actually what really matters is the Lawrence High Cowboys, the football team. Lawrence has had some pretty good teams in the past but they've never won a championship or anything. I guess that's why the season I wrote about in Wild Thing (the first book in the Lawrence High School Yearbook Series) means a lot to me.
Well, okay I didn't exactly write it--a guy named David A. Poulsen did. But it was my story--I'm Marcel Boileau but everybody at Lawrence calls me French because I come from Quebec. And I'm the narrator in Wild Thing--that means I pretty much tell the story.

I guess most of the guys at Lawrence think the way I do, guys like Denny Hillman who's my best friend and W. T. Zahara (the guy we call Wild Thing). Some people would call us dorky, but for us it's all about our school, especially sports at our school. I guess that's why Lawrence is called the "Jock Joint" by all the other schools

So, like I said, Wild Thing (the book, not the guy) takes you readers through a football season at Lawrence. But the book isn't just about football. I guess it couldn't be when you've got this gang called the Devil's Platoon hanging around making life very tough and very stressful for Lawrence kids (especially me!)
And then you've got the whole chick thing happening too. Like when Denny, who's the size of a small office building and Wild Thing (the guy, not the book) both like the same girl. And there's Annette Difolia who is major cute, not to mention hot and I really like her but...well, I guess you should probably read the book to find out about that part.

Oh, and the author, that David A. Poulsen guy, well he's written some other books about Lawrence High too. (I guess that's why it's called a series, duh!) I checked the guy out before I agreed to let him write my story and turn it into a book. He's okay, I guess, for a combination cowboy and author, which is a little weird if you ask me but like I said, he's all right. If you want to find out about him you can check his website, it's davidpoulsen.com

The second book in the series is called Blind Date. It's about hockey and drugs and a kid in school with a handicap and a bunch of other stuff too. It should be on the bookstore shelves now. And there are two more books in the series coming out next year. One is called Jeremy's Song and the other one is called Cowboy Cool. There are different narrators telling their stories in the other books but all of us who go to Lawrence show up in just about every book

Anyway, it's summer holidays right now. Which means the lake, some beach volleyball, trying to get in shape for next season...and...uh...Annette Difolia. So I'm sort of busy but I'll be blogging some more in the next couple of weeks or so. And if you write to me, I'll answer you in my blog, honest.

All the best to you

French
